Haimi Coffee Yemen Specialty Coffee Canada Mokha Bunn

Another Gem sourced directly  from one of the best coffee regions in Yemen “Al-Haima” located in the governate of Sana’a. This coffee is very special to us because it was our first coffee to officially compete in a professional coffee competition and score the first place! It was used by our dear friend Sebastian Miranda, Chile’s Brewers Cup Champion 2019-2020.

Therefore, we are so thrilled to be able to share this special Peaberry lot with you, thanks to the significant efforts of “The MasterMr.Mohammad Naji who has dedicated his life and put all his passion and love to produce this amazing coffee. Because we believe in sustainability, we can’t be prouder to team up with him to expand his farm and increase the productivity by 30% in 2023-2024 by planting 1000 coffee trees in his family owned farm.

This is one of my favorite Yemeni coffees, second only to Matari. This was my first time trying Haimi and the aroma was pure chocolate-covered blueberries on the nose. The cup was smooth, incredibly rich, and sweet with low acidity and a medium finish. The flavor plus the aroma make for a unique experience and I was able to get great results brewing at high ratios closer to 65-68g/Liter. The roast on this (and all other Mokha Bunn coffees!) is incredibly uniform, I didn’t find a single under roasted bean and they’re just perfectly developed for a rich cup that still has character. This is one I’ll be re-ordering.
